there are way more on my flickr...
It's difficult to belive that tour ended three months ago. As ready as I was to return home after three weeks, I miss it. A lot. It was a different time and a different place in my life, a really really good one, and I wish I could savor it more now. I'm in a good place now, as well, but it's different. On tour I had a backpack and a sleeping bag, four friends, two being my closest, and a different city to explore almost every night. and the sweetest bit? confidence in my home, my friends, and a boy back in baltimore for whom I was head over heels. summer was basic and simple and absolutely satiated. i had fluidity then; now i have perpetual motion. alas alas, things must come to an end sometime, and i have confidences in other things--not alternatives, just other things. suffered the casualties but the army of support proves i will never need to go to war with myself on my ability to reason. beginning on 5 january i will once again live out of a backpack, in a cloud forest, in costa rica, away from cars and cement and industry. i want simple and satiated, and i believe it will come soon enough.
this semester is a mixture of smiles and sickness (not illness).
the chickens always come home to roost.
i felt a new hollowness after reading the postcard. i guess i don't miss it anymore. i guess i'm finally on the level on which i needed to be months ago. it's just a coincidence, one that made me smirk and shake my head nonetheless, but i swear...
julian, bridgette, and ari hung out in the studio with me on monday. failed with brovember, but i don't really mind not being bro-qualified.
